Base Oil
Base oils find use in many manufacturing processes, like lubricating greases, motor oil and the sorts. All these products are used almost every day, by both end customers and other industries. Base oils being extremely resourceful, are tweaked with in terms of composition and the properties of the oil to arrive at different products, at different viscosities.
- Base oil by itself is produced by refining crude.
- While the lighter hydrocarbons are used in making petrol and other fuel, the heavier hydrocarbons are distillated and used for base oils.
